Warehouse Manifesto (In The Warehouse) by Ben Sims

@ben-sims has been one of my favourite DJs for over twenty years and sets the standard for mixing techno records. I have been buying Ben’s records since the late nineties and he has always been one of those ‘buy-on-site’ producers. His legendary labels like Theory, Hardgroove and Ingoma set the standard for driving, hard, funky tribal techno. His disco-infused techno releases were always one of my favourites to play back in the day (and still are!).

To have an arsenal that includes so many quality tracks and such seminal remixes, such as Rue East’s Birmingham and Summer of Blood, This is Code Red, Paul Mac’s Elvis Beats and Cards on the Table, Alpharisc’s Fresh People, Freaks on Ingoma and many many more is incredible. The list is simply outstanding.

I still have my copies of Ben’s mix CDs – Escapism Part 1 & Part 2, Welcome To My World and Fabric 73. Mixes I studied as much as I enjoyed and listened to on repeat. Listening to Ben mix has always made me want to get better at DJing and for that I salute and respect him to no end.

Anytime I have seen Ben live, it has been a real treat and a humbling education in the art of mixing.
