It’s hard to overstate the impact Stacey Pullen has made on techno. Some of his tracks are regarded as the most seminal works of the genre, while on a more personal level his fabric 14 mix has stood the test of time and remains a strong contribution to the series. Most significantly though, for the last 2 decades he’s also been recognised for his relentless pursuit of DJing as an art form. Blending techno, house and garage seamlessly, he became one of the first artists in Detroit to transcend style or pigeonholing. It’s not surprising, then, that he’s someone we hold the utmost respect for.
An innovator, pioneer and craftsman, he embodies the spirit of Detroit more than most. As we prepare for another Detroit Love affair with Stacey Pullen and Carl Craig in just over a weeks’ time, he sent us over an hour of heat to show just what Room One can expect in celebration of the mythical Motor City.
